The Plan

Sometimes all you have to do is ask

I stopped by our benefit coordinator’s office yesterday. I asked her if she knew if I would have to pay Georgia state taxes on my teacher retirement if I don’t live in the state. She wasn’t sure, but she’s going to a conference next week and she wrote down my question.

I also asked her if there was any place I could see my total number of available sick days. Unused sick days can be used for retirement credit. I really wasn’t expecting an answer, but they had someone compile information for active employees. As of the end of the 2014-2015 school year, I have one year and 3 months of sick leave built up! This is excellent news.
